Overview

Ryvid set out to reimagine the electric motorcycle from first principles. Born from aerospace engineering, the product is not an evolution of combustion. It is an entirely new platform built around modularity, lightweight construction, and accessible performance.

Working with Thad Jackson and the Ryvid team, I helped shape the brand around clarity, velocity, and confidence, positioning Ryvid as a modern mobility company rather than another e-bike startup. The work spanned visual identity, design system, dashboard UI, and the digital configurator that anchors the customer experience.

Strategy

Visual Identity System

The visual system draws from high-performance machinery, efficiency, and industrial design. Precision-cut, angular, and fast, it reflects the chassis it represents. Typography is utilitarian and mechanical, balanced with rigid systems that scale across frame decals, dashboard UI, packaging, and digital platforms. Color choices mirror the brand's physical palette: jet black, steel, electric silver, and signal orange. The result feels more like an instrument panel than a marketing wrapper, built to serve rather than just to sell.

Design System Principles

Every touchpoint reinforces the product's design logic. Modular, lightweight, engineered for assembly and iteration. The design system operates on a mechanical rhythm of tight gridlines, performance data blocks, exploded diagrams, and UI overlays. Strict rules for spacing, alignment, and scale keep the identity consistent across dynamic applications, from trade show environments to interactive spec builders. The brand can flex between raw and refined but never decorative. It always points back to the machine.

Ryvid Configurator
Central to the experience is the Ryvid Configurator, a modular digital tool that mirrors the product's core philosophy. Riders visualize, customize, and pre-assemble their vehicle with live previews of frame options, battery range, and seating ergonomics. We supported development of a minimal e-commerce system that integrates with production planning, bridging customer intent with manufacturing build. The platform emphasizes clarity. No lifestyle fluff. Just the data, parts, and decisions that matter to a rider-engineer audience.
